About therapy

Therapy may involve talking about past and present situations, thoughts and feelings, but also slowing down and paying attention to sensations in the body. This can allow you to be with your experience without having to necessarily retell your life story in detail. It can also allow a different creative perspective to arise.

I have particular interest in working with feelings around sexuality; also with those who have experienced physical trauma from accidents, operations and illness.

Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy (MBCPP) is the original mindfulness-based psychotherapy, that integrates Buddhist psychology and compassion practices, with western psychotherapeutic theory. It is not about following a particular formula, rather about deeply listening to each individual and their needs.

    Working together

As many studies have shown, the relationship between the client and therapist is key to the quality and effectiveness of the therapy. In order to get a sense of one another and how we will work together, I offer an initial 30 minute free in-person consultation.

    Initial meeting

During this initial meeting we can discuss your reasons for wanting therapy, you can ask any questions and I will share my contract with you.  There is no obligation to commit at this stage and you may wish to meet other therapists to ensure you are happy with your choice.

If we decide to work together then I ask for an initial commitment of 6 weeks with regular reviews following this.

If you need urgent support right now
